Finally Animoca Brands has spilled its beans about the actual gameplay for its racing game F1 Delta Time. The browser game will let players control the speed of their unique player-owned cars. In addition they need to use the car’s Drag Reduction System to create as much speed as possible. The company revealed these gameplay elements in a blog.
This also means that players won’t be steering the vehicles. Instead gameplay is more build around the car parts that players need to obtain in order to take part in the race. Timing and control will be important to set the best times.
Currently F1 Delta Time offers a Time Trial mode, which is basically idle gameplay based on the statistics of the car. These stats include luck, which apparently is crucial to set a perfect time. No matter which mode players will play, they will always need to optimize their car in the workshop. Every track and weather condition requires new tactics.
When the so-called Racing Game releases this summer, players will first have access to a qualification. This qualification is made up of three laps, with the first lap being a rolling start. The fastest lap will be used to match other players for the actual race.
Statistics are important
Even though skills come into play, statistics or your car, driver and car parts are important as well. Depending on whether the track has a focus on grip, luck, speed or acceleration, there will be a multiplier on a certain stat. The way a car performs on a track, isn’t limited to this one statistic, but to the entire set of stats for cars, drivers and the track itself.
In addition every race day the weather can change. This adds an extra layer of variation as players need the right set of tires for the best performances.
What is F1 Delta Time?
In F1 Delta Time players can collect virtual cars, drivers and car parts. Players can sell or trade these with other gamers. Once players have a car, driver and car parts, they are able to participate in races.
Competitive racing will be a core element of F1 Delta Time. Each car has characteristics unique to the vehicle. Acceleration, grip, top speed, and luck are the elements that will influence the car’s performance.
During last month’s auction, players spend an average of 816 dollars per person on the game. Overall Animoca Brands sold 2375 crates, bringing in a total of 364.270 dollars.
