Blockchain.info is partnering up with Stellar for ‘the biggest airdrop in cryptocurrency history’. Users who have a wallet on Blockchain.info will receive free XLM. In total the companies will be giving away 125 million dollar worth of tokens, which equals approximately half a billion XLM. The companies announced the first batch of the airdrop to happen this week.
Giving away the XLM is a way for Steller to increase its audience, while Blockchain adds another coin to its portfolio. Currently Blockchain.info offers wallets for Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH) and of course the newly added Stellar Lumens (XLM).
Blockchain has approximately 30 million wallets. Which would mean each wallet will receive 16~17 XLM.
Airdrops are common ways for crypto startups to get their coins in the hands of consumers. Often consumers need to do something to get their hands on a giveaway, but in this case all that’s needed is having a wallet on Blockchain.info.
