Masternode and staking service StakeCube has been hacked. Cyber criminals basically stole all coins not locked in masternodes from the system, which would have a total value of 13 BTC at least. Among these coins are StakeCube’s own SCC, DASH, LGS, PIVX, RDD and many more. Developer and CEO Oleg Warkentin told his community on Discord it’s likely the service will shutdown.
Stakecube has contacted the German authorities about the hack and robbery. They have traced stolen coins back to trading website Crex and cloud services like Vultr and Digital Ocean. On Monday a special department of the German police will look into their evidence. It’s Stakecube’s goal to get all the coins back.
The crypto company already bought back the stolen SCC and used a bit from the premine. Which means 300 thousand dollars worth of SCC has been retrieved and given back to the community.
