In a tweet published on Monday Gwyneth Paltrow has promoted an investment guide into bitcoin. Paltrow runs a lifestyle website called Goop which did an interview with exchange operator Bill Barhydt from Abra. This is an exchange-wallet hybrid focused on mobile users which offers 25 different currencies including the biggest ones on the market.
The article is the first time Goop mentions anything about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. Abra allows users to buy crypto using a credit card. The article itself is very basic, and introduces Goop readers into the world of crypto.
Paltrow is not the first celebrity to talk about crypto. 50 Cent has been bragging about owning bitcoin, famous tennis player Wozniacki gets her own token, DJ Khaled is currently being sued for promoting a scam ICO, while former rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard is getting his own coin.
There are even companies specialized in creating blockchain based tokens for celebrities. These tokens are all about fans connecting with a brand, sports club or of course an actor, singer or other artist.
